French Braids!!

This braid took me about 10 to 15 minutes but I don't care!!

I have always loved wearing braids in my hair and I especially love giving people braids in their hair. I just finished rugby season at school and everyone braids their hair for girls rugby. I just so happened to be the official hair stylist/ hair braider for the team. This means I had so much time for practicing, and, not to brag or anything, but I've gotten so good at them!!! I love trying out new braids and just experimenting with whatever I think would look good. I've done simple braids, french braids, single and double, and then i've tried corn rows (that was interesting), and now I really like doing spiral french braids with I think act kind of like crowns. I've also learned to do haring bow which is really cool. TRY IT!

Alexander Wang brought back braids with his shows but for me they were always awesome.

**Joanna Newsom**

North Toronto kids suck.... this girl definetly does NOT!!

Joanna Newsom is also one of my favorites to listen for my long journey to dreaded locations ( i.e. School.....eeeuh).
Here are a couple of my faves!

(skip to 0:44, she doesn't actually start until then)

I mostly listen just to ^^ this CD^^ "THE MILK-EYED MENDER" but I have listen to a few songs from her older CD " Ys" (I'm pretty sure) and her newer CD that just came out in february I believe that I cannot remember the name of at the moment...They've got some really nice songs too!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOH MY LOVE , OOH IT WAS A FUNNY LITTLE THING!!!

*Lykke Li*

This girl is awesome!! I have been listening to her music non-stop for the whole week and I not going to stop anytime soon. I went to buy her CD 'YOUTH NOVELS' yesterday, unfortunately I left empty-handed because her CD is 2 years old and the good old local music store didn't have it :(
On the bright side they said they would order it for me and then call me when they get it in!! (So nice eh?) YAH YAH YAH YAH!!

The guy who owns the store is this tall skinny long-white-bearded wise man who knows EVERY artist and CD ever!! (maybe not every CD but I'm convinced he's pretty close). He always knows what you're talking about and has a answer for every question. His knowledge of music just blows my mind...

When he said they didn't have it I was sad :( and for a second I was thinking; okay, well I guess I'll check HMV, but only for a second. After that brief moment of relapse, he started talking about how they couldn't afford to keep the CD's that weren't selling and blah blah blah.. I felt bad when I heard this but it reminded me that it is important to support local, independent stores to keep great people like good old Mike of Mike's Music around. I am positive nobody at HMV knows all the things this guy does. SUPPORT YOU NEIGHBOURS KIDS! (enough of that)

Anyways, Lykke Li is a Swedish indie (electropop) singer who I am now completely in love with. I love her voice, and cannot wait to blast it into my ears. She is definitely going to be apart of my " going to school"/ "forget about all other human beings and where I am going, for the next half hour" soundtrack.

She's only thirteen!!

My question is; why is Tavi Gevinson aka Style Rookie, so frikin' amazing?! This girl is only thirteen years old and means so much to the fashion world. She borrows clothes from Miu Miu, she gets personal calls from Mr. Prada, sits front row at fashion shows internationally, meets with various designers and somehow magically still has time for 8th grade. How does she do it?? Such a hard life...

(wearing Rodarte. Ya, she tends to do that...)
(front row tickets. Ya, she has those...)
(Wearing Prada. Of course...)
(Ya, she would be modeling Miu Miu's spring 2010 collection.)
This girl is isane!!! She looks so grown up now! What the hell happened?? She is gorgeous, in the last to pictures especially.
She has such a long and great career ahead of her, weither it be designer, model, writer, fashion magazine editor!!
and one again, SHE'S ONLY THIRTEEN!!!

Glitter Pie

I love when something great happens and you were never expecting it!

I woke up this morning knowing that later I would have to go babysitting...I was dreading it. When I got there no one was home so I ended up just going back to my house which kinda sucked but at the same time YAY I didn't have to babysit. Well, no, not quite. A few minutes after returning home there was a knock on the door and my hopes were crushed and I had to babysit anyway. Turns out I had to bring Meiyan to a birthday party.
IT WAS AMAZING!! The place the party was that is. It was called Glitter Pie.

This place made me want to be 4 again. There was so many things to squish!! The walls were covered in splattered paint and dyed cotton balls and glitter absolutely everywhere. The ceilings were covered with painted parasols and paper lanterns and there was the most amazing little kid artwork!
The kids made all sorts of things that just looked like so much fun, it was really hard to restrain myself. I wanted to make all the crafts sooo bad!!! Especially the glitter pies!!
These pies were made of shaving cream topped with glitter. Then you put every colour of food dye all over. Then, the best part; SQUISH!!! Oh how I wanted to feel that multicolour shaving cream in between my fingers. All the crafts involved sooo much glitter I couldn't believe it. I couldn't help but rub my fingers in it.The women running the place kind of looked at me funny when I did that...

Another thing that happened today.
After babysitting I met my mom and my sister downtown. It was late so by the time I got there we only had time to go to one store. Of course, we went to H&M (although going to ZARA would have made the trip even better). The H&M at the eaton center is under renovations and last time I went it was a huge disappointment. This time, it was far from that. I didn't end up buying much but just looking was fine for me. They had so many amazing things. A lot velvet, lace and shoulders. I bought two shirts with big shoulders.
This isn't exactly either of them but it's the closest thing I found online. One of them is grey and has lace detailing on the shoulders and the other is a darker purple and has 3/4 length sleeves.

Also at H&M I found *drum roll please* VELVET HAREM PANTS!! They were amazing but they were 60 bucks, and more than I had. Sooooo, thank god for mothers, my MOM bought them!! YIPEE!!

Thanks to Petra modeling them. It's too bad my camera wasn't functioning. Need more batteries!!

Okay well my computer is about to die so I have to finish this up. I'll end by saying I still haven't seen Alice In Wonderland and I might die if I don't see it soon. (I've been wearing my bunny necklace in hopes of it increasing my chances of soon seeing this movie. I don't really know why I think it'll help but eh, whatever.)

Alice in Wonderland

OOOOOOOOOOOH MAN!!!
Alice in Wonderland came out last night and I want to see it soooo badly!! I'm almost positive I'll see it tonight and I just can't wait!! I've been waiting for this day since last august, not kiding. My sisters (when I say sisters I mean my sisters and my cousins) and I found out about it and we' ve been crazy about it since. It cannot/ will not be a dissapointment!! IT WON'T IT WON'T IT WON'T!!

Isn't Tim burton just the best? He makes awesome movies and always has a great cast, like good old Johnny Depp and Helena Bonham Carter. So many good ones like Sweeny Todd, Sleepy Hollow, Nightmare Before Christmas, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Big Fish and Edward Scissorhands ,oooooooooooooh i love that one! Tim Burton has such an interesting style and he never disapoints with he's unbelievable creativity and originality. Hope he makes another one soon :)
